Spontaneous Road Trip!

Thought y'all might like to see the space we booked through AirBnB last weekend! 

  

We requested the booking on Friday around noon, just before we left home.  We had only decided to go on the trip that morning, and had kinda figured we would just find a cheap hotel room...

  It was an awesome week, filled with hard work, fabulous people, new friends, old friends, long days, short nights, delicious food, camera's, bright lights, lots of water bottles and makeup!

#RockYourHandwriting Challenge - June!

So I'm a few days late in joining this, but I'm so excited!
    I started a bullet journal this month, and I LOVE it!  One of the things I found when looking into starting a bullet journal, was the #rockyourhandwriting challenge on Instagram, hosted by @boho.berry, @decadethirty, @prettyprintsandpaper, and @tinyrayofsunshine,  the challenge is simple...

 just follow the hosts on Instagram, write whatever the prompt is for that day, and post it on your Instagram with the hashtag "#RockYourHandwriting" =D  So simple, right!?!

     And to make it even simpler for me, I'm copying this chart right into my bullet journal!

  (I'll do a post about my bullet journal in a couple weeks, so I have enough stuff in the journal to make it worth reading! lol)

Another year...

A year.

Seems like it should feel like longer...

But no, it's been a year already.

And my heart aches.

A Jaw Infection...

Sometime early last week my Jaw started bothering me... the week before that I'd had a canker sore waaay in the back on the top right side. (It was behind my last molar, felt like it was so far back that it was practicly in my throught - so it hurt to swallow or even breath. Ugh.)  So I noticed a little lump on the left side of my jaw when we were at that wedding, but I was distracted by the canker sore... and didn't pay attention to the lump... at first.

Peg Board Project...

I got the peg board for the back of my 'shipping center' desk!  

But the color of peg board is kinda blah...

So I decided to spray paint it!

SO - on Tuesday, my Hubby and I made a trip to Chicago for his work to drop off some parts at a repair place... and then went to IKEA!

Though You Slay Me...

       I've listened to this song a lot in the last couple months, and it's especially 'real' to me right now.I listen to it because it reminds me of essential truths.  Truths that need to hear, but usually don't want to. Life's hard sometimes, but God is always good - so though I can't see through it, I praise Him for it.

Suffering Well...

Last week I listened to a series about Enduring Suffering on Revive our Hearts.  It struck me that suffering isn't just about being beaten for being a Christian, it also has reference to heartache - emotional suffering.

   This is one of the quotes that really stood out to me...

A Sunrise Quiet Place...

     So I went for that Sunrise Drive yesterday morning... it was super foggy and there was no beautiful Sunrise to watch after all.  However, I did take my Bible and was able to read for a good amount of time without being distracted by things I had to get done (which was the main point of going after all)!

     And even though there wasn't a great sunrise, I did take my camera and I did take a few pictures...

This was the first picture I took, it's a railroad crossing I passed on the way...  

It was a really neat scene this morning in the fog!

     When we are on vacation, I like waking up really early, taking my bible and journal and finding a quiet place to watch the sun rise and read/write/pray for a while.  I've gotten up as early as 4am to do so, and every minute was worth it!
