SO - on Tuesday, my Hubby and I made a trip to Chicago for his work to drop off some parts at a repair place... and then went to IKEA!
It was a blast! WE left our house about 4 am, and got to the repair place just after they opened so we didn't have any waiting like we have in the past. We pulled into an empty Ikea parking lot at 8:00 - and found out they don't open till 10:00. We briefly discussed going home, but decided to find a breakfast place instead (yay!).
We went to this wonderful bakery called "The Corner Bakery Cafe". I had a Chicken Apple Sausage Panini, and Mike had a Bacon and Cheddar Panini - both were delicious. And their Coffee was great too!
We got back to Ikea at about 9:20, the parking was considerably less empty (but got our same parking spot!) The store has a resturant that opens at 9:30, but we had just eaten and we had gotten up at 4 after getting to bed late... so yeah, we slept for a couple minutes! When I woke up the parking lot had gotten way busier than when I had closed my eyes! We stretched and talked for a couple minutes then headed inside...
I didn't take any pictures while we were there - but it was a really fun store and we had a lot of fun looking at stuff and talking about the different items. We signed up for the Ikea Family card, which is free and you get great savings! And we found a coffee table for our living room!
